Do you know what you voted for?
It was during the 1975 spring semester of my senior year in high school when I registered to vote. Some of my former classmates and I turned 18 years old and were allowed to register to vote at the high school. Our history teacher talked to our class about the responsibility of casting educated, well informed votes. He told us not to listen to party leaders, union leaders, the commercials on television or ads in the newspapers. In fact, he told us to be careful what we even read in the newspapers or what is reported on the news. Reporters can twist facts or deliberately leave information out to try and sway the votes in favor of one party or one candidate. Our teacher told us we had to research the candidates on our own. What the candidates stood for. What they voted for or against. How those votes affected us and the economy. What their plans were if they were elected, etc. We also discussed the fact that the President did not affect the economy—it was the Senate and the Congress. Yet it is the President who gets blamed for everything.
We began our educated, informed votes by calling our senators and representatives offices and requesting information be mailed to our houses. Next we looked through newspaper articles and did research at the library. To us, voting was an honor and a privilege, as well as a responsibility people in other countries did not have. Like the countries that are under communist dictatorship. Think of Cuba, Vietnam, how Poland used to be, etc.
The day after the 2008 Presidential election I heard a report on the news stating two thirds of the people who voted for Obama were young voters, mostly college age. Reporters interviewed some of the young voters who all said basically the same thing. “If it wasn’t for the internet chat books, they never would have gotten involved in the election.” To them, voting for Obama was the “social thing to do.” The students also said the Obama campaign flooded the chat books and emails with political ads for Obama. (Spamming is illegal.) Obama knows young people are easily swayed, have little to no experience in life, and do what they see their friends do, and do not think about the consequences of their actions.
My questions to all parents who have sons or daughters in college are, What kind of an education are your children getting if they do not know anything about US and world history, sociology, and economics? Are you proud your children voted for someone specifically because it was the cool social thing to do? None of the young voters ever mentioned IF Obama accomplished anything while he was in the Senate. Yet we informed, educated voters know Obama never chaired a committed, he never introduced a bill to the floor, or did anything for the State of Illinois. They never mentioned what Obama’s voting records were. How his votes and others who voted like him affected our country. If I had children in college that were getting such a poor education, I would demand the instructors be fired and also demand the tuition money be refunded. I would also send my children to a better school.
We can look back at some of our greatest and worst Presidents to see what their successes and failures were. Terrorists were attacking our men and women in the service during the Clinton administration. Does anyone remember the navel ship that was attached and innocent sailors were killed? Does anyone remember terrorists attaching US citizens right here on our own soil, never mind around the world? So much for the bumper stickers I saw on cars that read, no one died while Clinton was in office.
It was the Clinton Administration who forced the Israeli government to free the terrorists who were in Israeli prisons. When the Israeli government refused to release the terrorists, the Clinton Administration threatened to cut off funding to Israel if they did not release the terrorists who did not shed any blood. After the terrorists were released, they thanked the Clinton Administration and the United States by high jacking planes, flying them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the last plane crashed in Pennsylvania before it reached its targeted destination. If it wasn’t for the Clinton Administration, we never would have had a 9/11. There are reports that Osama bin Laden will launch an attach on the United States far larger than 9/11 when Obama is in office. Obama is not qualified to lead this country in a campaign to combat terrorists. And what will they do with the terrorists that are being held in Guantanimo Bay Prison? Perhaps they will be working with bin Laudin to launch another attach on the US.
Obama made quite a few promises while he was campaigning. One of the promises he broke was not to take public donations. The many millions of dollars he made from public donations did not simply come from the general public. Obama accepted $600 million dollars from terrorists that did shed blood. When Obama was interviewed about this he replied, “when you are running for political office. You are willing to take money from anyone.” This is not true! People with good character make better choices and set better examples for young people to follow. No wonder the american communists endorsed Obama in the election.
Obama is definitely not a promise keeper. Obama is a promise breaker. There was a time when both Obama and his wife were unfaithful to each other. They both fully admitted this in interviews. Do you honestly think these are great family values to teach children across this country?
During the 1960s when John F. Kennedy, a Democrat, was President, he proposed lowering taxes across the board and cut spending. By looking back at our US history, we know this helped the economy. When people have more money, they spend it, which causes a demand on the products or services they spend the money on. This creates jobs and new businesses. When more people are working, the government collects more tax revenues even if the taxes are at a lower rate.
When I was in college, I voted for Jimmy Carter. January 20, which is Presidential inauguration day, just happens to be my birthday. I can remember how much I enjoyed watching the inaugural festivities on television, and how proud I was of President Carter and Mrs. Carter for walking up Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House. It wasn’t long after that I sat in long gas lines and President Carter gave away the Panama Canal. The United States of America paid dearly for loosing the Panama Canal.
Ronald Reagan, a Republican, inherited a 12% inflation rate and a 20% interest rate from the Carter Administration. President Reagan proposed the same thing President Kennedy did. Lower taxes across the board and cut spending. President Reagan called it trickle down economics. When President Reagan’s policies were in place, his administration helped to create somewhere in the area of 16 million jobs. A far cry from the 2 million jobs Obama HOPES to SAVE, not create. Yes, Obama has changed his tune one more time. He went from creating jobs to saving jobs.
We know President Kennedy’s policies and President Reagan’s policies did turn the economy around. Obama wants to raise taxes. Originally Obama stated he would only raise taxes on those making $250,000 a year or more. Next he said he would raises taxes on those making $200,000 a year or more. Finally he said don’t be surprised if he gave tax breaks only to those who made well below $150,000 a year. Clinton promised to lower taxes, he never did, and neither will Obama. More promises broken.
The day after an election is an indication if investors will rally around a newly elected president. Instead of the stock market making a rebound, the stock market continued to decline. One reason is Obama wants to take everyone’s 401Ks out of the stock market and put it in some area of the government. Obama wants to give a flat 3% interest rate, with inflation figured in, then send out a lump check to people when they retire. He also wants to limit the amount of money you can contribute to your 401K to 5%. The mainstream media is reporting the stock market decline on loss of jobs. But history shows that is not the only reason. When investors know the newly elected President’s policies will do harm to the economy, then investors stop investing.
Almost seven years ago, President Bush stated we had to “stop being dependent upon foreign oil.” President Bush proposed offshore drilling, and also turning the closed military bases into refineries. Kerry, Dodd, Kennedy, and the rest, voted against President Bush’s proposal. When the proposal came up for another vote, Obama voted against it as well. Obama stated he wanted the gas prices to go up. Obama didn’t care this policy would create jobs in the construction and clean up of the military bases, and permanent jobs running the refineries, not to mention lower gas prices, lower home fuel oil prices, electric rates, food, etc. He just wanted people to stop driving their cars.
The democrats keep saying it will take up to 5 years before we see any relief from drilling for oil here in the US. If they voted in favor of President Bush’s proposal 7 years ago, we would have relief by now, and not just at the gas pumps! People would be traveling again. Good for hotels and restaurants where they would have patrons is just one example.
Instead of the permanent jobs President Bush proposed, Obama wants to put government money into the building and repairs of roads and bridges. Obama thinks temporary jobs will help to jump start the economy. Doesn’t do anything for the oil prices, cost of groceries………..
In one of Obama’s earlier speeches, he stated he wanted to tax the coal tar industry so much they would go bankrupt and go out of business. Obama fully admitted raising taxes on a business would not only harm the business, but in this case this would not be great for the economy in Pennsylvania, as well as the rest of the nation where products are made from coal tar. We not only get many products we use in our every day lives from coal tar, but we also get 50% of our electricity from the coal tar industry. When electric rates go up, so does the price of everything else.
Before the election, Obama stated corn was not healthy to eat. A reporter who was trying to defend Obama quickly explained, it wasn’t the corn, it was the products made from corn that were not healthy, such as coca cola, cereals, etc. It sounds like Obama wants to put more people out of work by closing the companies that manufacture those products. It is rather amusing to hear a smoker like Obama, tell the public what is healthy to eat or drink. I never heard Obama say they should close down the cigarette companies.
Is Obama truly a US citizen? We know he was born in Hawaii. But reporters like Mark Davis from channel 8 news did not tell you everything. It is written in the Constitution of the United States, you have to be born a US citizen in order to be President. Mark Davis from channel 8 news stated Obama was born in Hawaii and McCain was born in Panama. What Mark Davis did not report is, Hawaii became a State on August 21, 1959. If Obama was born before that, and his parents did not have him declared a US citizen born outside of the US, the way Senator McCains parents did, then Obama is not a US citizen. Obama’s father was a British subject. Obama’s birth records could show Obama was born a British subject and not a US citizen. Obama’s mother was married to an Indonesian and they lived in Indonesia for a while. During the time Obama was in school there, you had to be a citizen of Indonesia. If you were a citizen from any other country, you could not attend school. When Obama decided to run for office, he knew he had to hand in the actual document the way Senator McCain did stating his birth and citizenship. If Obama is truly a US citizen, then why did he have to suddenly leave the campaign trail before the election, take off to Hawaii to see his ailing grandmother, stop to see the governor of Hawaii and have his birth records sealed? Can this be considered fraud on his part? Is fraud an impeachable offense? Or do we ignore all of this because he is a Democrat? Even if Obama produced his birth records, there will always be the air of doubt about his citizenship. He could have had the document doctored or forged. After all, it is proven he will do anything to get elected, including taking money from terrorists.
Michelle Obama purchased a section of land from the wife of a Chicago slum lord. The piece of land was sold at below market value, which is against the law. Both of the Obama’s are lawyers and know this is illegal. Recently the indictments were handed down. You won’t hear about this before January 20. You might not even hear about it after January 20.
On three separate ocassions, Obama voted against funding healthcare for babies that survive abortions. Instead of taking the many babies that survive abortions to neonatal intensive care and giving them a chance to live, those babies are usually held by a nurse until the baby dies. After the stem cells are taken, the babies remains are tossed out with hazardous waste. We know Obama wants to remove limits on stem cell research. Every person who voted for Obama told him they approved of killing babies. How many practicing Christians voted for Obama? How many practicing Christians will go to their churches, slap their hands together and pray, not giving a single thought as to what they voted for? Can you sleep at night or look at yourself in the mirror?
I would like all of the people who voted for Obama to picture all of the innocent people who died on 9/11 standing in front of them and explain to those people why you voted for someone who took money from terrorists. I would also like you to picture the babies who survived abortions but were forced to die standing in front of you. Explain to them why you voted for someone who refused to try and help them live. After all, those babies could have grown up to do something special with their lives like HONEST Abe Lincoln. Tell those babies if you have the stomach to hold them and watch them die.
President Lincoln respected life, all life. He would never stand by and not try to help those little babies. President Lincoln would never take money from terrorists. President Lincoln known as HONEST Abe Lincoln because he was just that. HONEST. President Lincoln was a man of his word. He wasn’t involved in anything illegal like Obama. Finally picture President Abraham Lincoln standing in front of you and explain to him how you could compare Obama to him, and the inauguration to the Gettysberg Address.
Obama should not be allowed to use President Lincoln’s bible. It would be a desecration to everything President Lincoln stood for. Obama should use his own bible given to him by the great spiritual leader the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
The only people who should be proud of Obama are communists and terrorists. As for the rest of you who voted for Obama, you don’t have anything to be proud of. Instead you should be ashamed of yourselves and what you voted for. If the United States of America was such an awful place to live, did any of you ever think of moving to Iraq when Sadam was alive? What a great neighbor he would have been. Sadam experimented on his own people with chemical weapons. Sadam personally executed members of his own family. Let us not forget the rape rooms where Sadam and his sons used to take the local fem fatal for their jollies. Why didn’t any of you invite Sadam to Disney world for a family vacation.
