My husband was diagnosed with ALS at age 59. The disease progressed so quickly in him that within 4 months we had to have him measured for a special electric chair. The type of chair he needed cost $20,000, and was not covered by any insurance. I contacted Caregiver-Helpline.com. I asked if they could help me find a chair at a reduced price. Miss Zuk went out of her way to contact the local ALS association in my area to see if they could suggest a place where we could get a used chair to purchase, rent one or borrow. We were lucky! The local ALS association had several used chairs that were donated by families of people who had had ALS. My husband was fitted to one of the chairs, and it didn't cost us a penny! All we had to do was to promise to return the chair when we were finished using it. This is one company that keeps their word! Caregiver-Helpline did not charge us a penny for contacting the ALS association for us.
My 79 year old mother began to ail three years ago and came to live with us before my husband was diagnosed with ALS. Mom is at the point where she needs products that are not covered through insurance. Once again I turned to Caregiver-Helpline and was able to purchase the products my mother needed at reduced prices.
Caregiver-Helpline was willing to speak to the doctors, nurses, therapists-anyone who was involved in my husband's case and my mother's case to make sure we were purchasing the products they truly needed.

We were enjoying a family get together one Sunday afternoon when my husband suddenly became paralyzed. Every test taken came back negative and the doctors could not find out what caused the paralysis My husband ended up in a nursing home, but because of his age, 46 years old, he did not qualify for short term Medicare coverage and we did not have any type of long term care insurance to cover or help to cover the $250+ per day nursing home expenses. After consulting with my husband's doctors, my family and I decided to bring him home where we could care for him ourselves. We were given a list of items he would need for his care at home, none of which was covered by any insurance. I contacted Caregiver-Helpline who got us the items we needed which included a hospital bed. All products we purchased through Caregiver-Helpline were name brand products, and Caregiver-Helpline did save us money!
